  • QRack Lock Up

    This is really only a minor problem I am having, and generally it happens when i connect to a server, but using the latest QRack build it locks up for about three seconds. So if I'm in-game I cannot shoot or move around, and if I was pressing the forward button at the time, i keep moving forward until it stops.

    Generally as I said it happens maybe a minute after I have connected, but I did have it do it at random times while I am on, resulting in me getting killed without being able to fight back. I overheard a few players on Bomber mention they were having problems too, so in that case it might just be something with the server. I also wasn't sure if it involved my FPS, which I generally don't bother with but I know it can improve my gameplay.

    Let me know if there's anything you need to know about my client or if there isn't a fix to this problem.

    whats your maxfps? vid_vsync 0? etc.... -mem settings? background tasks.....?

      Both Goblin and I had issues spike issues a couple of times on Bomber so it's not a Qrack issue, it was something with the server or the network.
      Quakeone.com - Being exactly one-half good and one-half evil has advantages. When a portal opens to the antimatter universe, my opposite is just me with a goatee.

      So while you guys all have to fight your anti-matter counterparts, me and my evil twin will be drinking a beer laughing at you guys ...

        R00k - I'll get you that info tonight when I am able to get back to my main comp.

        I meant to mention but I've actually had it happen on several servers, especially Shmack and Speaknow.

          vid_vsync was set to 0.

          maxfps is set to 75. I don't know a whole lot about fps so if it should be set differently what would you suggest?

              Hmm, nothing really sticks out of the ordinary. Just curious though why use 70hz for refreshrate? Is that all your monitor can do at 1024x768? Is it an LCD?
              This is unrelated to your problem, but using vid_vsync 1 at 70hz will be more smooth than vid_vsync 0 at 70fps, though sometimes vsync 0 can give u a lower ping.
