Help with GL Quake (All clients)

I seem to be having problems running ALL GL versions of quake (pro, qrack, darkplaces etc).
is there some patch I have to download or something? because none of them seem to work
this is what seems to happen...

original exe- fuzzy screen, not much else
GL pro- console+sound- no video/graphics
qrack- wont load up installer
darkplaces- ultra low fps, could be computer probs, but it runs other similar games fine...

any help would be much appreciated!

Some PC specs might help

Do you run integrated video? What type of Video card do you use? Also check and make sure your video card drivers are up to date

my laptop has a custom trident cyberblade XP (3D accelerator) running on winXP.
I runs other games such as Guild wars fine, and could even run Q4 if it were on a different computer (i.e new).
my laptop also has a pentium3 700Mhz processor, and over 300mb of RAM.

Try ProQuake 3.99z

The glpro399.exe should run with almost any graphics card. If it does not, also in the ProQuake download is d3dpro399.exe which uses Direct3D instead of OpenGL.

If neither glpro399.exe or d3dpro399.exe run, then you'll either need to see if updating drivers can help or have to use a WinQuake client.
