  • ClearWater Mod + XP = :(

I'm running on XP, so obviously I can't run GL Quake. I have tried adding the Clearwater Mod two different ways...

    1. Adding it to the config in ID1 folder

    2. Using "vispatch" to patch the PAK0.PAK and PAK1.PAK

I knew that Clearwater couldn't show up in WinQuake, so I tried ProQuake, JoeQuake, and FuhQuake and none of them support Clearwater.

Is there any client that supports Clearwater or is there a way to get GL Quake support on my XP.

    Thanks

First off, GLQuake can run quite fine on XP. It's slightly fussy about video cards for sure, but the OS isn't really a factor.

Anyway, moving on, there seems to be a step you're missing, which is to set the r_wateralpha variable in the console. A value of 1 is fully opaque, a value of 0 is no water at all, so set it to 0.5 and adjust up or down to suit your taste.
