I upgraded my dsl on Wednesday and had to get a different modem. As soon as I got everything setup I logged on to play some quake. I was able to connect to every quake server I play on (speaknow.quakeone.com, ctf.clanhdz.com, rage.quakeone.com etc) except ctf.quakezone.net. When I try to connect to it, it takes a long pause before it finally says "connection accepted" and then below it <connected to a proquake server>, but then it just freezes at that point and finally just disconnects me. I've reset my modem and can't think of anything else that could be causing this. Anyone have any suggestions, or similar problems?

It's not you. It's the server firewall. All the ports need to be open on the server for clients to connect properly.Originally posted by cd57 View Post

We had that particular problem at bomber.ironrocket.com in 2006 and certain players could connect and others couldn't. Eventually a month later, what was going on was discovered with the server firewall not being right for Quake.
Unless the server firewall settings are corrected, you will never be able to successfully connect there.

Thanks for pointing this out. I open a trouble ticket with fatpipes, hopefully they will get this resolved ASAP. I also noticed again that when people are connected it does not show on the server list of quakeone.com. It does show on the FULL list though...Comment

I'm pretty sure I see it whenever there are players there.
