  • "Hell in a can" problem

Hello, I am playing the old map "Hell in a can". It has a new weapons. The problem is that the documentation does not tell you which impulse I need to bind to a key to access it. Thanks.

Look harder. It might be in a config.cfg.

I had encountered the same problem and started looking through stuff and eventually found it. I *may* have needed Google's help, but I don't think so.

I'm out of town with rotten internet speed so I can't download it or otherwise help in a useful manner.

So while you guys all have to fight your anti-matter counterparts, me and my evil twin will be drinking a beer laughing at you guys ...

Well, I tried impulse 110-115, as well as impulse 100. One of them displayed "Unknown command give". I can't google "Hell in a can" because those words are to ordinary, and search casspq1 impulse didn't find it. So I am hoping you can remember.

        It's all in the autoexec.cfg
        bind t "impulse 112"
        bind g "impulse 111"
        bind b "impulse 110"
        bind y "impulse 114"
        bind h "impulse 113"
        bind n "impulse 115"
What they do I have no idea though.

Spirit gave you the answer. In the elevator, you can select 3 floors. You use I think the "t" impulse to go to the top floor and the "b" to go to bottom floor and maybe the "g" one to go to the bottom floor.

I think you have infinite ammo, but you must reload using one of the other impulses.

He quoted you the ones you need.

I didn't play Hell In A Can properly until like the 2nd time over 2 years after I played it the first time. I'd use an engine that can bind keypad keys like FitzQuake or JoeQuake and bind them to keypad keys 1-5.

And then randomly hit them until it moves the elevator or reloads your gun. I think one of them might use a health-kit too.

I already have the keys from the autoexec.cfg binded. But there is no way for me to bind the new weapon to a key?

This is the new weapon I am talking about. Does anyone know what impulse I bind or what key I press to access this?

                  It's part of custents.

The impulse that it's set to defaults to 199, but that might have changed.

In terms of other impulses, n (impulse 115) skips cutscenes.
                  16:03:04 <gb> when I put in a sng, I think I might need nails
16:03:30 <gb> the fact that only playtesting tells me that probably means that my mind is a sieve

Thanks. It was indeed impulse 199.

                      Just type in the console:

                      bind <mykey> "impulse 117"

For the stuff that Spirit mentioned:

                      bind t "impulse 112"
                      bind g "impulse 111"
                      bind b "impulse 110"
                      bind y "impulse 114"
                      bind h "impulse 113"
                      bind n "impulse 115"

And you can bind it to any key you want.

It has been ten years since I made that level, so my memory might be off, but I think hitting F1 will explain what all the custom key bindings do.

(I really should have had a message pop-up at the beginning of the level: "HIT F1". Would have saved a lot of people some time.)

As long as you're here, might as well ask. Am I suppose to defeat 4 field with thirty shells in the beginning?

Also, can you get the custents weapon normally?

Hit Y when you run out of shells.

That weapon isn't in the level, no.
