quake maps
hey gethsemanie , you were just at speaknow.quakeone.com playing a few games with us, i was wick! as for the maps, you can download all sorts of maps from Quake 1 Maps i hope that helps you..

You should find that most, if not all, of the maps Peg and the admins put on the server can downloaded from here
Hope this helps

option 1)use Qrack 1.90 and setoption 2)
Code:cl_web_download 1 cl_web_download_url "bigfoot.quake1.net/~jack/"
then it will download any missing map automatically and reconnects you to the server as soon as its done..
(a few seconds)
if you prefer any other client but still like to have auto-map-downloading then get this tool and unzip it to your quake folder..
(say c:\quake for this example)
then edit your shortcut that you use to start your client so the "target" line reads as folows:
c:\quake\qmapdl.exe glpro399.exe -mem 64 -zone 2048 <add other command line options here>
(note i used glpr399 as an example but the same goes for any other client)
make sure that tcp port 26262 is accessible from the internet, so if you are behind a router, forward it your pc and make sure that qmapdl.exe is cleared in your firewall settings..
then just start quake with that shortcut like usual and connect to euroquake (bigfoot.quake1.net:26000).
if you encounter a missing map, just type:
Code:say !getmap
(this tool only works for windows and only on euroquake and qrf servers)
option 3)and off course you can always manually download from here as monty suggested..that should do it.. now go kick arse! (preferably stefan's
you might even want to use a download accelerator like flashgot to get em all at once..
quakeone.com has been overhaul'd lately so that's why you get the 404 error
(i do hope this gets fixed soon)
in any case put the maps in ~\quake\id1\maps folder.
)
