  • Quake World TF question.

So I got ezQuake and I was wondering if it is compatible with Team Fortress? Im running windows vista so I have to set ezQuake as the protocol thingy to join servers since the server browser dosnt work .
If it does work, what TF is recomended? The regular one? Or a modified version. Im a so I dont know much about quake than playing Q1 and 2 on the nintendo wii . If it helps, I have the full version! And is there like a zip file that includes almost every thing? Thanks!

I have nothing constructive to add to this thread, other than the comment:

I LOVE THE OPENING OF THAT MOD...

When I first saw that, I was blown away. That's what sealed my crossroads path to Geek'dom.

      ...thank you... g'night everyone.

I'd love to help you, but I can't give any concrete information.

Have you....tested anything? I'm not hip on ezQuake... does ezQuake work off command line execution the same way proQuake does?

Do you know what server you want to connect to?

I have always done things via trial and error.

Ok, well I just installed it but it looks like it runs on this DOS exucutable called "quake.exe". How do I make ezQuake compatible with this? Is it even possible? Umm no, you click on the ezQuake exe and it starts up, no CMD just poof!

*sigh* Well I tried and it didnt work,
                    Look at ezquakes parameters,
                    Target:C:\OLDGAMES\Quake\ezquake-gl.exe -game fortress
                    Start in:C:\OLDGAMES\Quake.

What AM I DOING WRONG? Can I just have an awnser? Is it my quake world client? Which one is recomended? Does the origanal one
                    work on vista 32 bit?

I wouldn't take answers for granted. Sometimes it happens and sometimes it don't.... I'm not trying to be rude... It's a matter of discovery and inspiration.

There is also the research method.... I'm sure your not the only one who has had this issue...

I'm gonna try your ezQuake... Of course, I've gotta "google" it if I can't find it in the threads that is your library.

Let me try to get EzQuake going on my laptop...."No promises"... and if your lucky... someone else will have 2 cents to add....

In the mean while... what are your plans for using "TF"? Hosting it yourself, or connecting to a server? If you are connecting to a server, what is the address? This will help me test the MOD.

Looking into your ezQuake for Vista.... found this:

                        http://quakeone.com/forums/quake-tal...ows-vista.html

I am reading this thread.... and so far, it's looking DOOMish for ezQuake and Vista...

Contrary to the name, ezQuake is a Quakeworld client and not a regular Quake client (which some people call NetQuake).

The best place to ask Quakeworld questions would be at the ezQuake forum at Quakeworld.nu QuakeWorld.nu Forum / Client Talk

Team Fortress is mostly a Quakeworld modification and this is a NetQuake site, so most people here aren't ezQuake users and most people here don't play Team Fortress.

Well thanks, but my problem is when I start ezQuake, it just loads regular quake, I put the "pak0" from the fortress folder to my id1 and named pak2. But when I start ezQuake, it boots up like normal.
