  • Please help with malice install!

I like many of you played and loved Malice for Quake back in the day and repurchased it and quake recently. I installed Quake without a problem but when I try to install Malice I get this message:
"The directory C:\Quake does not exist" when it most certainly DOES.

I've tried changing the Directory (e.g. C to G) but it won't change, If I rename the Quake directory to anything else it won't recognise that either.

I heard about a crack quake1ID.zip which may have needed to be installed prior (as seen here Quake Terminus) but tried without success. I even bought a new disk just in case the one I had was faulty but to no avail.

Just so you know I'm trying to run it in vista using Dosbox0.73 which runs Quake no problem.

If anyone can help me out I'd be very grateful as I love Malice and have tried a whole bunch of stuff and it's irritating how I can't play a game I've purchased genuinely. Thanks.

Really, no-one has experienced this problem?

My Malice disc has the contents plainly on it. You could simple copy the MALICE directory into your quake directory (so it is on the same level as id1). Then use the BAT files inside it (or check out what they would do and adjust).

Try Fitzquake as "Windows exe" if you want to play Quake with faithful looks but a modern engine.
