Quake doesn't detect?!!..

OK , I have a problem while I was trying to download one of the quake open source mods it says quake doesn't detect it or somthing. This seems to happen every time I try to download a mod for quake. Can someone help me?.

Which mod and what exactly is the error message?

It's possible that the author might be hanging around here, and if so saying exactly what the message is will be very helpful. These things don't just exist as "blah jargon blah confusion 0x576df545" you know - they are caused by very specific things happening and if you say what it is it may be possible to point you at exactly what is going wrong.
