    Hi guys.
    I'm an old vet of quake but I'm new to modding/skinning.

    I currently run darkplaces with dp mod and a few textures/models of my own.

    Not sure if any of you can help but I'd love to know if there is a way to remove/update the old quake explosion sprites.

    I hate them now! they date the game and look damned ugly (especially as they oftimes obscure the lovely explosion effects from my updated effectinfo.txt I use.)
    I felt sure I'd seen a nicer alpha explosion in a screenie somewhere but I'm not sure if that was for DP or not.
    Likewise, it would be nice to remove/update that old orb-light sprite (underwater in e4m7) if possible.

    Someone mentioned something about sprites being 'hard-coded' (not sure what this means) in relation to the sky sprites and I wondered if this applies here.
    If I can replace them, all I really need is a filename/directory fo the original sprites and then I can just make new files and add them to my mod!

    any help or insight would be greatly aprecciated.
