  • Reforged and Rygel Ultra textuers (and bumpmaps)?

    Hey all, a few questions (related to bumpmapping)

    Could someone hook me up with the ULTRA texturepack (where surfaces appear 3D instead of flat textures), and let me know any tech considerations/coding I may need to know regarding errors getting the bumpmapping to occur?

    Also, I don't seem to be getting any shine/gloss effects either- it's just flat textures.

    On another note, does anyone know how to get the foggy effects and lava steam as follows?


    I'm trying to get this as far as textures (I'm using high- which is what this user is apparently using also- but I'm only getting flat static textures)

      King,

      what you desperately trying to find is the cvar for Parallax Mapping !
      You cannot activate this "3D" effect, as you described it, in the menu options.

      Once you activated parallax mapping and RT lights, you will also see the "shine/gloss effects",
      which you are missing as well.
      You must have normal and gloss textures besides the diffuse textures of course.
      But these are available in Rygels packs. So it works.

      To do it, please follow the instructions here.


      Regarding your first screenshot:
      You already made a screenshot from another engine who has this effect.
      Why you ask your question then ?
      DP does NOT have it, if you ask. Use the other engine then.

            Thank you for your hint metchsteekle.

            I also thought: THIS must be MH�s work
            MH is a master in shader creation/usage.
            You can see it in his water movement, lava shader...
            Its outstanding.

                  Regarding custom HUDs:

                  It is possible in EZQuake to position your HUD Icons wherever you want.
                  For examples and ideas visit this page: here or here
                  This is a very good thing, which i would love to see in other engines as well...

                  In DP it is, as far as I know, not possible. But I might be wrong.
