Quake converter

I found this really sweet Simpson's Quake map but I only have Quake 1. Is there a converter I can use? I looked but couldn't find anything.

I believe darkplaces can load quake 3 bsp files.
Tried using that?

Yeah, I tried renaming it. It's actually a .pk3 file. It failed to load it as a .bsp. I didn't think that would work anyway. It won't load as a .pk3. It says file format not recognized or something like that.

Hmmm, I know Darkplaces can load pk3 files...
I'll give this a crack here in a minute.

Edit:
Just tried loading the map in Darkplaces, says there is no info_player_start in the level.
I'm not sure on what to say, not familiar with many engines that load quake 3 bsp's.

I should mention that I have the shareware version which I added the original map files to. It is complete and plays all the mods just fine.

Put the pk3 into id1/

In Darkplaces get to the console and type "deathmatch 1", then "map simpsons_q3" (or whatever it is called). The map does not work well in DP. ;-)

Just loaded it, a lot of the textures seem to be missing.

Open Arena can run Q3 maps and is free.

In fact, I prefer Open Arena to Q3 and have used it to run this map [I do have Q3, but long ago uninstalled it in favor of Open Arena].

Thanks for the help. I used Pakscape last night to extract the .bsp but Darkplaces kept crashing at load-up. I'll try your way tonight.
