  • Darkplaces (problems with effects)

    I have a problem with Darkplaces effects, mainly shots from Scrags and Death Knights, when they shot and miss the target, they remain stuck on wall and floor, still emanating a glow. What's wrong?

    It's a hit decal mine does the same. You could delete your effectinfo.txt in your id1 folder and it'd be gone (but also alot of your effects)

        Yeah, the effects came from Seven's effectinfo.txt

          yes, they are intentional effects (that took seven ages to make LOL), don't you like it? I thought they were great!

          you could always just delete the appropriate lines in the effectinfo.txt and the decals would be gone, saving the rest of sevens effects intact.

              I recall having a problem like this on FvF with the Wasteland Warrior's worms. If you shot them at the floor, they would stay on the floor and bounce in place forever. At higher ticrates, this problem doesn't occur. DP has singleplayer ticrate control, the default is .0138889. Try sys_ticrate .05 in console (the default Quake ticrate) and see if you still get the issue.
