Help on setting up Mission Packs.

Hello, new to the forums here. It's going to be great getting to know you guys in the future!

Now, I need a massive tutorial on how to set up both the mission packs on either EZ-Quake, GL-Quake, or Dark Places (Dark Places preffered).

I have both original PAK. files for vanilla quake, plus the folders for Rogue and Hypnotic with all of their data, pak, and script files, untouched.

How exactly would I go about the process of playing these games? I remember a little while back, of me screwing around with the files, and was able to play the mission paks, but with only vanilla quake data. Meaning, that some lifts, doors, levers, etc. were already opened, and alot of new content was missing, such as the new weapons, enemies, and other features.

Well if you have Darkplaces installed, then the mission packs in the right folder, having a "rogue" and "hipnotic" folder in the same folder as the Darkplaces exe.
Simply create a shortcut
Right click it
Choose Properties
You should have something similar to mine - just possibly a different directory
C:\Quake\darkplaces.exe

Now simply make it this:
C:\Quake\darkplaces.exe -rogue
or
C:\Quake\darkplaces.exe -hipnotic

and there you go.

I followed you're instructions down to the very line, but it keeps saying it's invalid.

I'm quite stumped. I have the dark places exe., and both the folders, what am I missing?

Hmm weird. I have my shortcut on my desktop try the same.
My current shortcut on my desktop is:
C:\Quake\darkplaces.exe -sndspeed 44100 -heapsize 1310720 -rogue +sv_cheats 1 +deathmatch 0 +teamplay 0 +skill 2 +map dm4

I have extra stuff due to my modding and testing stuff.
However when I edit it to be:
C:\Quake\darkplaces.exe -rogue
It boots up DoE mission pack.

Man, thank you so much. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have been determined enough to check to the mods section of DP ingame (not playing, demo menu).

It simpily shows all PAK files and mods in the DP folder!

I can't thank you enough. Nostalgia, here I come!
