  • GLSL/Default.GLSL part 2

    Hello

Alright so some things have changed. I dont use Windows XP anymore. Which means the driver I used in the first thread on this topic no longer works....unless I install windows xp again...

It was verified to be a driver last time around.

I cant go back to the old driver obviously so I am wondering if there is any other option I can try to get this video card to properly display so I can play through this again.

    Original thread.

I am thinking it is a setting of some sort that is causing the issue.

Quake Enhanced. I guess it is Darkplaces version 1.07? Is there a newer version available possibly that fixes this issue?

Ok so I got the original quake to work. How do I get the expansions to work as well?

        Hello Dukagora,

I dont know if that helps, but if you use DarkPlaces and got the original Quake setup and running correctly, the only thing you have to do for the mission packs:

        Start them with these shortcuts:
        - Mission pack 1 (HIPNOTIC): darkplaces.exe -hipnotic
        - Mission pack 2 (Rogue): darkplaces.exe -rogue

If that doesnt work for you (for whatever reason), OoPpEe created 2 files, that does the same (for people that have problems with shortcuts): here

Regarding the DarkPlaces build you use:
R00k gave you the link to the april 2010 build.
May I suggest the newer build with much better performance and many other enhancements:
        february 2011 build

        Have fun with your Quake.

        Kind regards,
        Seven

Alright. I have tried renaming and it doesnt work. I have also tried the files you linked but those dont work either.

Screenshots of the contents of folders in question.

            Hello Dukagora,

thank you for your screens. They make it much easier to investigate your issue.

DarkPlaces.exe has nothing to do in the mission pack folders.
            Nor OoPpEes .exe files.

For the normal user, Quake has a folder, lets say:
            c:\quake

Inside the quake folder is your ID1 folder and there should also be your mission pack folder:
            c:\quake\ID1
            c:\quake\hipnotic
            c:\quake\rogue

The DarkPlaces build, which you downloaded must be extracted into your quake folder directly.
Not into any subfolders of quake.
So darkplaces.exe (as well as all those .dll files and 1 subfolder) must be inside quake directly, then everything I mentioned in post #4 will work.

            Kind regards,
            Seven
