    Hello everybody!

    I'm new in this forum but I've been playing quake for.. I'm really not sure, but should be for 9 or 10 years..
    LordHavoc's Darkplaces is a new world wonder, I have installed Rygel's High Texture Pack, Quake Reforged skins, Seven's dirty "DP Pretty water" and the game looks absolutely awesome, I'll try to use seven's weather effects too..

    But I wanna know if there is a way to activate motion blur in Quake, you know, when you move the camera fast.. Hope somebody can help me, and sorry for my english..

    Hello daniocampo1992,

    If you want to play around with this feature, be sure to read and understand some of the related cvars first:
    r_motionblur is "0" ["0"] motionblur value scale - 0.5 recommended
    r_motionblur_bmin is "0.5" ["0.5"] velocity at which there is no blur yet (may be negative to always have some blur)
    r_motionblur_maxblur is "0.88" ["0.88"] cap for motionblur alpha value
    r_motionblur_randomize is "0.1" ["0.1"] randomizing coefficient to workaround ghosting
    r_motionblur_vcoeff is "0.05" ["0.05"] sliding average reaction time for velocity
    r_motionblur_vmax is "600" ["600"] maximum influence from velocity
    r_motionblur_vmin is "300" ["300"] minimum influence from velocity

    This is part of the dpwiki you might want to visit.
    I never played around with that feature, cause I dont like it.


    One more thing, that seems to be a very popular enhancement for DP: klick
    You maybe like it.

      Thank you seven, it's not the kind of motion blur I wanted, but just using it on 1.0..
      I absolutly love the new effects, I'll be posting some pics of my game soon..
      Now I'm trying to get to work you new hud pack, I copied the pk3 to the id1 folder but I don't know why it doesn't work..

            From what you are wanting - seems like you need to reduce the:
            r_motionblur_vmax is "600" ["600"] maximum influence from velocity
            r_motionblur_vmin is "300" ["300"] minimum influence from velocity

            I haven't really tried this but those appear to be what you need to edit.

            I never really knew about the motion blur abilities in Darkplaces. Looks nice, hope there is a way to only enable it on when you take damage. That's one of the things I liked in DooM 3.

              Your FPS will also effect the gradation of the motion blur. In your 1st pic you only have 47fps.

                Oh LordH. thought ahead reading the console commands - he DID enable damage blur. Needless to say that's in my config now

                  Yes OoPpEe,

                  Everybody who is interested in DarkPlaces features should read the dpwiki from time to time.
                  It is continually expanded.
                  Thank you Error for opening that wiki !

                  It is almost unbelievable how many features are "hidden" in DP.

                  The dpwiki helped me more than I can remember....

                    Yeah I will have to keep the site in mind. I never knew DP had ANY motion blur feature at all, let alone the DooM 3 damage blur.
                    Added to my perm config and already loving it. Left at default values and needless to say it's awesome. Getting hit by Grunts leaves next to no blur but getting hit by a Vore leaves a decent amount

                      r_damageblur on my config too..
                      I'm gonna take a deep look to the wiki when I can, it's very interesting..
                      About my framerate, I play between 30~60 fps, the rtlights are a GF 9500GT killer, but I still consider that the game is highly playable..
                      And thanks for the tip OoPpEe, I lowered them and there's a little difference, I'll be testing other parameters later..

                        For what you are wanting, the max value would likely be about 200 and min at 75 - simply because you want a subtle blur. However changing these changes the max/min blurring on damage.
