  • Mouselook in Win7

I've already posted in another thread about this problem, but since I've been quite busy I've had no time to look into this thoroughly. I can launch almost all quake clients (except qrack crashes on startup, yes this is directed towards r00k ) but when I load a map my mouselook will not work. I have been known to be mildly computer retarded at times but +mlook or checking the options menu that it is on isn't whats tripping me up. I'm thinking its some easy solution with win7 but so far no searches have come up with this problem.

Anyone experience the same thing? Any ideas from Win7 guru's?

Sounds more like a problem with your mouse or your mouse driver than with Quake; I'm on Windows 7 and mouselook always works for me, irrespective of the engine used.

Alright thanx, I'll look into the mouse driver. It does seem like the simplest answer.

Unfortunately QRACK isnt a drag and drop installation of just the .EXE into the /Quake folder. It requires support files in it's OWN pak0.pak for textures etc.
This could be why its poopin' on your parade.

Does your non working mouse not work in windowed mode too?
I cant remember then engine I tested once, (i think it was a Quake2 engine) and the mouse didnt work at all either. But it would work in window'd mode.

I had this issue when I tried joequake as I was sent a beta when I was approached about doing HD content for the Mission Packs (for Scourge Done Slick).
Sadly I got this error and a couple others, although I fixed them by simply using alt+tab - select another window, it minimized and I then select back to it and then it worked.

Finally had some more time to play with it. Thanks to Mark I checked every line in my config and there was one type error as well "freelook 0" which disabled mouselook.
