Portable Quake

Can someone tell me what's the deal about Portable Quake? I've seen it pop up numerous times.

From my experiences I've gotn Quake 1 to play on both the Sony PSP and my Optimus V Android Phone, both devices were "hacked/rooted" and there was only software mode with poor controls and no real way to send messages or play MP really... Maybe the experience is different for SP but I haven't tried.

Quake 1,2 and 3 graphics are easily achievable on a mobile device these days, its just a matter of game makers to release ports of their games or focus on developing games for mobile devices.

I got quake running on my Iphone , software mode but still 80-120fps hehe.
And I can also join quake servers online with it

Ah I see. But Quake 3 is already on iPhone, isn't it? in the form of a game called eliminate. With eliminate, the controls are actually OK (but you can't crouch, message, toggle sprint... And it has a really annoying energy system and they try to make you buy things with real money.) How do I know? Multiple sources on the internet such as youtube have proved it possible to put Quake 3 Maps on Eliminate, as well as hack Eliminate using the hidden .cfg files to use commands like "giveall" and "god"
But yea I just wish that the REAL quake would come out on mobile.

It's been done many times, if you have a iPhone - jailbreak it and volia you have access to various ports of Quake for iPhone.
Then on the Android Market Quake is also available too - unless it's been pulled.
