how can i adjust my ping or make it faster if i am using darkplaces engine? or just make it faster in general..i have 32 bit system with 1.5 gb or processing speed and an router plugged in for connection

You don't really have any control over your ping times. Even low end dsl or cable is more than enough for Quake bandwidth-wise... it all comes down to how physically far away from the server you are, and your ISP's routing.e|------------------------0---------------

could help to figure out where your OC is i think, and the route your connection is taking to said server...
If u have hi speed internet and have issues, contact your ISP.

You can't control your ping; it's dependent on factors outside of your own net connection, and outside of your ISP even. The server's connection, how many hops your data has to take to reach the server, how much latency there is at each such hop, etc. A higher speed connection can help some, but ultimately latency is the biggest bottleneck, and any reasonably decent modern connection will eliminate the speed differential, leaving just latency as the sole contributor.
