  • QUARK too slow in Windows 7 64bit?

    Hello all

Just noticed honestly that Quark runs very very slow in my current setup. I have tried versions 5-6.6 and they all just run very badly, I have to wait sometimes 2 whole seconds just for a polygon face to become highlighted for texture selecting in some instances.

My current specs is I have a 1.73ghz i7 CPU with 8gm of ram and windows 7 64bit ultimate, I think this should be plenty considering my older machines ran it fine.

Have there been any known issues with Quark and win7? Just curious.

    Thank you

try lowering your core usage to one core! or maybe just two!

My thoughts are, thats insane spec's for what Quark was originally intended to require in terms of of system spec's..

When I run PS2 emulators or Wii Emulators, I confine myself to one core, at 3.2ghz

If your using the 3D window all the time (UnrealEd layout), maybe try disabling it or change it to wireframe too. I know the beefiest of systems have trouble with QuArK's textured 3D view, and Win 7 may magnify the problem. Other than that, try what Mindf!3ldzX said.
