I entered in console vid_vsync 0 when i played earlier and it raised my fps to up to 250 or so..and it ran well. Then I tried it again after i learned and i think i changed some other options through console commands from a website and i try enter vid_vsync 0 and my screen starts blipping like a black bar that moves up and down...??how did i get it to work right earlier for dark places and not now?

Raising your fps too high will make your ping worse.

really? Thats interesting because ive been doing a playthrough of Quake in co-op with 2 friends (one on a laptop, one on a desktop) and the one on the desktop complains about lag alot. Could it be because his FPS is too high? vsync is disabled on all 3 machines (personally don't like the fraction on input lag it introduces)

His FPS is between 60 - 150 (goes up and down, got all the fancy models/textures/lighting going on)

different hardware , different results. Whats good for your rig, isn't good for your buddies.
