  • How hard would it be to mod split screen into the game?

Anyone ever try? Yes, pretty much the only way splitscreen would work is if players were using controllers instead of m/kb, correct. Things like xpadder would make that feasible for sure. (xpadder.com)

I'd love to do it and BTW, I use Qrack mostly if that matters.

if you get it setup, let me know. I would like to have some instructions on-hand,because emulated Mario Kart 64 is getting old. haha

It's more than just controllers. You'd need to mod the entire client code (including the renderer) to allow multiple instances of it to run, and potentially do some netcode modification as well.

Couldn't one just try running 2 different engines in windowed mode, then resize the windows to split the screen?

most games fail at working when they aren't "in front" , ie (which window title bar is colored,in windows). Whichever one you click the mouse on,will be the one active.

I've got like 12 usb slots or some retarded shit, and run 4 controllers regulary, and if you can't get the support from 1 client , OR , there is an option for the game to continue running in the background, even if it isn't "in front"...
