Best Mod Combinations?

Is there a mod combination that can give the ultimate High Definition?

I see alot of pieces out there, for example the new water and lava effects, is there a mod that combines all that into a single HD mod? with alot of enhancement? I only know DarkPlaces, can anyone suggest anything better to combine with this? or something completely new or better?

What is the "Best combination"? There isn't one.
Some works go better with others though. For example if you were to use any of my content - I only recommend using the weapons in Rygels pack (Ruohis' weapons) and using QRP's textures. I say that as my content was based to match them as those are what I use.
There's various content out, so it's really mix and match, Mindz posted the best link right now to get you started off. Use that as a base, then replace what you want after.

I still maintain it's one of the best combinations out there. For my taste at least. There are plenty of others out there as you say OoPpEe.

DarkPlaces is never finished. It's the most heavily modified / updated / major polishing.


If you have today's BEST setup for DarkPlaces, congradulations your config will be obsolete in 6months,or less.

I download everything and stow it away, I'm sure I have incorrect versions (not finals) of stuff. I have the link I supplied,its pretty I also have everything downloaded in broken peices, I might not comment about the spiffy looking addons but for the most part,I consume everything produced.

Sometimes I digest it onto Youtube video's , which I need to do RuneQuake demo's availible WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO oh yea GG.

I need to download and USE the SMALLER rygel stuff. Using the largest download,makes shit just take what seems to be like FOREVER :F

I agree with your statements. I have about 6 different versions of Quake on my HD due to the variations of engines and options for monsters, weapons etc. I was just giving my thumbs-up for the version you suggested which is one of my favorites, although I've tweaked it to my liking even more with changes in effectinfo etc. Didn't mean a bad thing about other options guys.
