A Error that ocourrs when starting my mod with beta models

Alright, heres the story:

In youtube, i saw numorous videos of Qtest1 (quake 1's beta version) and i liked on how the weapons models were so old. so, i opened the pak file of Qtest and put the weapons models in the progs folder of my mod's directory. Then, an error appeared.

It said that the model was outdated (lower version) and i was like ''What???''

So i want help here on how to make the beta models working.

The model format must have changed between the Qtest and the Release, I can see that skins have changed. Would it not be possible to load the qtest models into QME then save them out to quake1 .mdls? I havent tried this but should work.
