  • ZQuake Console Commands

Hi, I was looking for a way to change the amount of ram from the default 32, to something higher, like 96 or something. It loads all mods, but freezes at certain points in the game, so I'm wondering if the amount of ram has something to do with it. Oh, and this is for ZQuake (not ezquake) which is a quakeworld client.
I looked up some QW commands, but didn't see any that effected the ram.

    Thanks,
    Jastolze

It is not a console command but a command line parameter you need to pass to the exe: -heapsize 64000

I tried that, and it still says 32 megs ram being used. What should the cmdline file be named? I have quakeworld.cmdline and cmdline.qw, and it still doesn't effect the game...

No idea about those files. If you are on Linux just write "./yourexecutable -heapsize 64000". On windows make a link to the exe and add that heapsize stuff to the thingie.

Thanks for replying. I'm actually playing zquake on a pandora, which is based off of linux, and the PND file's are like a windows version of an executable. So, I tried the -heapsize 96000 and the -mem 96 and it still shows as 32. Maybe it was ported with only 32 megs free? Or, maybe it is taking effect and it doesn't show the changes.

          Thanks,
          Jordan

Next time say that right away.
Quake 1 (Zquake With Gles) - GP32X.com - Home of the OpenSource gaming Handhelds says he even added an option to set the memory in the launcher. Does that not work? Report it to him as a bug then.
