i need a link to Team Fortress 2.8 BOTS
if anyone can help that would be great!
-RangerXT
Such a thing is impossible. They never added bots to Team Fortress 2.8 + team fortress is closed source which means it can never happen.
Just providing infos.
Quakeone.com - Being exactly one-half good and one-half evil has advantages. When a portal opens to the antimatter universe, my opposite is just me with a goatee.
So while you guys all have to fight your anti-matter counterparts, me and my evil twin will be drinking a beer laughing at you guys ...
which suggests that such bots might exist out there somewhere. http://www.planetquake.com/minion is a dead link, but the files may well be mirrored out there somewhere.
If you are skeptical or cynical about this, you won't have any fun. But if you keep an open mind ...
I suspect an engine-side bots mod that is unaware of game rules and the bots just wander around and do stuff.
Probably as exciting as setting a monkey in front of a typewriter and seeing what kind of book he'll write.

I tried scouring FilePlanet (where everything once upon a time could be found....)
I blame IGN, they are no longer updating + are in the process of Archiving , AKA fucking shit up beyond being useful. WTF, I remember being able to browse the shit out of FilePlanet. Leave it to IGN to fuck it up for the old schoolers.
Until someone proves there are competent Team Fortress 2.8 bots that play the game right .... and this means YouTube video ...
I call bullshit!
Someone can say they found a readme, say they have the mod, but I say ...
Prove it!
And, if at the end of this I have to eat a sammich and say I was all wrong, so be it.
But I have ...
1) Never seen it on server
2) Never even seen it mentioned by a Team Fortress player
3) And in fact never heard of it at all, where here or at a Quakeworld website or a Team Fortress web site.
4) Never seen it in a Team Fortress archive.
I stand by my statement that in 10+ years of Quake no one has ever even so much as mentioned a competent Team Fortress bots mod (or even a crappy one) and all the talk in this thread does NOT convince me to believe otherwise, quite frankly.
If someone proves it exists in a trivial form, so be it. But until then, I do not believe it. There is no evidence for it and plenty of evidence against it.
And seriously, with as many TF fans as there are, why does that bots mods not show up in any TF archive?
Now, I'm not saying that file didn't exist, I'm saying no one thought the mod was good enough to recommend, and that's saying something considering the low bar for bots mods.

MEDIC !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There are websites with virtually every type of practice bot and coop bot imaginable. A few really old sites. Rather recent ones. Some in the middle.
And they don't have any Team Fortress bots, yet they have every oddball unpopular bot you never heard of. They have the frikbots, frogbots, omicron bots, 12 to 15 different "other bots" that apparently are nobodies first choice and are forgotten.
And amongst the inferior/obsolete bots crap collection on those site, none of them have Team Fortress bots. Nor have any of the "compilations" that have about all the Team Fortress content ever made (even crappily) have it.
I'm just saying the odds of a real and actual Team Fortress bot existing that isn't utter crap is somewhere in the "I captured Big Foot" or "my nextdoor neighbor is a vampire" level of probability.
Team Fortress isn't a niche mod and the idea that such a thing has been hiding in secret is rather difficult to believe.

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh snap. I find it hard to believe we went all these years, and the INITIAL trinicom server die off that last time ~ was all hinged on he forgot to check server. haha. horrible sounding even if true, an entire community died off due to 'i forgot'.
