yeah it is not availible but there was a pre release for doe skins and i wondered if there was a pre release for the player

www.quakeone.com/qrack/files/teamskins.pak is a moddified skin of primeevil's I just changed the face... u could look on gfx.quakeworld.nu for the original..

Keep trying, bro! You can do it! Don't let some filetypes, naming conventions and non-standardized config/console vars stand in your way!



Edit: Oh, I almost forgot, I don't know why anyone hasn't told you this yet - all engines have a console var that "automagically" (kudos seven) fixes anything that you can't get to work.

open your console and type

If you are using Jenny you will get a return that says "Oh" and everything will work. I am not 100% familiar with how other engines notify you of the fix.

what is this 'straight shaft'?

ive heard people talk about having straight shaft but i never got wtf it was?
and the model in your pic doesnt seem special in any way, looks like a normal LG

Thats what the Lightning Gun shaft looks like in NORMAL/UNMODIFIED Quake.



Imagine a surgeon having two choices ; Massive Samurai Sword vs Tiny Precise Scalpel.

You know his best work will occur with the smaller more accurate blade, same thing for Quake1 when fighting against other human opponents.

Smaller the bolt.mdl , no squiggles or zig-zags = finer object to aim at the enemy.

The real odd thing about it, I do not know how the shaft's bolt actually looks in its "damage zone" . I mean,obviously the damned thing is a straight(ish?) line that damages when its in the line of path of an enemy, but does the damage zone include these squiggles?

Technically the lg collision is updated every .02seconds and is just a traceline from u too 600qu straight out. The model is cosmetic though the real ass is the round trip from u to the server and back before u see the update
