Trying to get all the grapple stuff going for quake. Been a couple years and I cant remember how to set things up again to get hook going for servers like Shmack. I tried to set it up earlier and Shmack says "+hook unrecognized" etc. Also need a quick refresh on keybinding stuff. Maybe there should be a sticky on this stuff?

Almost forgot, if you're planning to play RuneQuake, as there isn't a "please stop spamming messages and let me play option" yet [which can be a bit of a niggle with some of the personalities at Shmack] you could try

cl_nomessageprint 1 will cancel anything being written to the console, nice for making demos without all that text.
cl_mute 1 silences the beep noise for mm1
cl_mute 2 same for both mm1/mm2
a true "CL_STFU #" would need to be added to the server, so that the server doesnt send you messages that player # says. Kinda like the opposite of the now obsolete 'TELL' command.

I wish I had your turn of phrase, but that's just the sort of thing I'm looking for. It would certainly make some servers much more palatable
