Original DM maps

hey, first of all this is an great site.

i have downloaded joequake and all so that i can play lan quake with myy housemates. but i dont seem to have the original DM (1-6) maps i only have episode one and the entrance place.

any help would be much appreciated thanks.

Sounds like you got the shareware install, though I cant recall if the shareware possessed any dm maps at all - if not... I honestly like all of the e1 maps for dm.

I do not know if joequake checks for registered Quake or not either, nor do I know about such status in other engines... But there are still user made maps also... Otherwise you will need to nab a proper version of Quake. The easiest way would be Ultimate Quake which is running for $10 or $20 at Walmart, Bestbuy, etc and contains Quake,2,3A in one package.

Im not gonna condone any behavior beyond that as legality can be questioned, and I dont want to get into that discussion =)

it is the shareware version if that's all he gets for MP maps.

I just started foolin' round with q1, and opted for the shareware version just to see how it would run in winXP and since it was one click and a 3 sec. dload away.

Went to multiplayer to start a local host game and to set my player name, and there IS only the two maps to choose from.

Sounds like "joe's" and "glquake" etc just look for a quake executable, and not for versions.

I think the shareware just knew within itself, to lock out the entrances to 3 out of the 4 episodes.
