I need the mplayer version of q-ball.. Its kinda like quake tag but you need to kill the guy to get the ball and then go pick it up to get points... The ball is a quad with littler lights around it...

you should not need anything to play Qball, its a server side mod last I remembered.

Qball as from Mplayer was a game like tackle the man with the football. I think the original MPlayer Qball used the QUAD model as the "ball". I remade this mod around 2000, and it still sits on my HD, (i really should clean up the code) But I still have it if u would like a copy.

If your looking for that qball mod thats nothing more than basketball then that link above is what u really want.

No.. Im looking for the original Mplayer Q-ball.. One of my buddies wants to host it on a server. The quad is the ball... And you get points for how long you carry it for. The only way someone can get the ball from you is if they kill you... You have to use the axe to pick the ball up....

I remember Qball , you had to throw it into something for points. Maybe im thinking of something else???

Yes, Souless. My mod duplicates that MPLAYER mod very close. Though I chose to use the sprite ball as the Qball. You can only use axe to pick it up and the qballer runs slower than the other players. (There's even old wall passing too)
I dont think MPLAYER ever released the mod to the public, which is why i was asked to remake the mod. Lemme know what you need, if you cant find the original then I'd be happy to send your friend my qball mod. I did have it posted on Qexpo but that site is down now :S

Is there any way you could change the q-ball to the quad and have little glowing lights flying around them... Also have the q-ball be able to run the same speed as everyone else... ?

Ya, basically making the ball the Q model is easy, the glowing dots are around the player holding the ball and the ball itself. From what 2tone described to me, the ball holder was suppose to run slower than the rest of the players?

I did make a second "mode" to the game, called ASSAULT mode which is basically UT2k's BALLRUNNER knock off much more fun playing a 4 on 4 defending your goal than just playing cat and mouse imho :d

Yeah I was in 2tones Q-ball clan on Mplayer.. heh... Anyway.. I don't remember running slower when i had the ball... We want the "cat and mouse" mod because It's classic to us...

Which Qexpo? 2001, 2003, 2005, or 2006?
We were able to recover all 2001 and 2005, 2003 seems to be gone forever afaik.
