First of all, I downloaded quake and the files needed to run it from this site.
(I downloaded the three things mentioned in this thread
:http://www.quakeone.com/index.php?in...s&op=show&id=1 )
When attempting to connect to a server It would connect, but it would not allow me to start playing. The only server that would allow me connect to and play, was xctf.clan-rum.org. When trying to connect to the other servers, I kept getting an error message saying that it could not detect a certain file. I realized the the files were maps.
If I run Joequake-GL and view the maps, there are about 6 different ones. : s
Assuming that the lack of maps is my problem, is there a package I can download of all the standard quake maps, so I can play on the more popular servers?
Or...am I screwed unless I have a "Legitimate" version of quake?
Any help would be great.
Thanks.
