Trouble joining servers

Hi this is Ceriux's little brother and i fixed the one issue i had but now when i try and join a server it will DL everything i need to DL but then it says "checking sound.."then EZquake crashes.Anyone know how to fix this?

Sounds complicated. I'd ask at the clients forum at http://www.Quakeworld.nu where the ezQuake developers answer questions.

Baker's right, EZQuake is a QuakeWorld client and used to connect to QuakeWorld servers.

Alternatively your could always download a netQuake client such as ProQuake, Qrack, Darkplaces, JoeQuake, etc (links available on this site) and play at one of the servers listed on this site.

If nothing else it might help you isolate where your problem lies.

Hi..

I need some help to connect.. and some questions..

do I need to have the same mod as the server ?

watt do I do if I gan connect and I can se that the other players are chatting in the game.. but I still can join.. xD

and wen I need the map I cant faint it any were..

and I only can play on the FreeQuake Compatible servers.. ( xctf.clan-rum.org )

The xCTF server is the only shareware Quake server. The other servers require registered Quake.

I'm not even sure that it's possible to run a shareware server , but as a simple test acccess the menus and try Multiplayer > New Game > TCP/IP > Ok.

If you were intending to run a server with a registered version of Quake you could follow the instructions outlined in Baker's guide on this site clicky.
