  • Need help connecting

This sounds really nubby, but I haven't played quake for the last 6 years.

It's the original quake, no mods, just plain old QUAKE1, i was wondering how do i connect to my friend, we've tried to connect via TCP/IP but i guess it cant find his IP, I also would like to know if there are any WORKING clients still for quake 1, and if so can someone link me to a live link, so i can download it.

If there are no clients, can i ask the regular port number for quake?, and any suggestions on connecting to him.

Oh if it helps, i live in Canada, hes in Australia.

    Please help.

I would recommend using a Quakeworld client (ezQuake) for that since it is overseas, but I'd asked that question at www.quakeworld.nu if you go that route. (This site is more oriented towards regular Quake and so is the expertise).

It should be as simple as going to multiplayer and starting a new game and having one of you connect to the other by typing "connect <other player's ip>".

Go to www.whatismyip.com to get your ip address.

But again, I'd for details at www.quakeworld.nu especially if you end up having a problem.
Quakeone.com - Being exactly one-half good and one-half evil has advantages. When a portal opens to the antimatter universe, my opposite is just me with a goatee.

So while you guys all have to fight your anti-matter counterparts, me and my evil twin will be drinking a beer laughing at you guys ...
