cannot connect to any multiplayer servers...

i cant connect to any multiplayer servers unless they are on Darkplaces special server list, or EZquake...

iv tried adding -ip My external ip addy... but nothing... it says its not a real ip or something, or its unable to bind to it.

Don't add -ip to your command line, that's only for servers or special situations.

What server are you trying to connect to and what is the error message when you aren't using -ip (which you should not be using if you aren't doing something with a LAN or hosting a server)? You are using DarkPlaces I assume?

i was trying to connect to FVF (main server) it says that my connection was accepted then it just sits there.

I just tried connecting to that server with ProQuake and DarkPlaces and it works for me (so the problem shouldn't be the server or the client).

I would try connecting with ProQuake (download) and if ProQuake works and DarkPlaces doesn't then it is probably a setting in your config or the version of DarkPlaces you are using.

If you have UDP forwarding active in your router from your experiments with hosting a server, you might need to unforward it to connect. If all the UDP packets are forwarded to, say, 192.168.1.101 and the computer you are using is 192.168.1.102 then it won't be receiving any UDP packets to complete a connection.

yep that worked thanks, is fvf's movment always weird though DP's movement is alot smoother.
