  • Linux ProQuake Server Grappling Hook

    Hi,
I'm trying to run a ProQuake Server on a Debian Linux Etch to play death match ... All is under control but the 'Grappling Hook'.
I launch this server by entering the line : './pqlinux -game grap -dedicated 16', the mod is in the 'grap' folder under the server exe, but the clients (under win xp) don't responde to double selection of the axe.
The grappling hook runs in single player game with the win xp proquake client.

    Thanx
    Pierre (Le bourreau)

Optional 1: I'm also looking for a solution to get an auto cycling maps process
Optional 2: where can i find proquake client/server documentation

Defining the map cycling would require you edit the QuakeC and recompile (not really all that fun to do), you could ask at Inside3d.com how to set that up.

The mod with is a progs.dat needs to be in the grap folder (quake/grap) and make sure it is all lower case, it sounds like the mod isn't loaded.

ProQuake server isn't any different than winquake/glquake for the most part, it is just standard Quake without any significant alterations.

Yes, Linux (all *nix, in fact) generally uses a case-sensitive filesystem. It's best to have all filenames in lower case. I'm not sure if you need to unpack and repack .pak files to make sure of this.
