  • Quake Multiplayer and Microsoft Vista

Hi Everyone - I've played shmack.net almost exclusively for the past couple of years and ran winquake on windows xp with a linksys router. I never had a problem before although I was only proficient enough to basically enable the DMZ on my linksys router and open the appropriate port. Port Forwarding for whatever reason never seemed to work, altho I was probably doing it wrong.

To the point: finally upgraded to a new pc which runs Vista. The game will play, I go back and enable the DMZ, the firewall is off, but while I can connect to a server, the map never loads. It just says "connection accepted" and sits.

    Any ideas?????

    Thanks.

It might help you to upgrade to the latest version of Proquake. I seem to recall the ever helpful Baker mentioning that he had put in some resolutions for that very problem.

@Ravva: You might also try renaming the opengl32.dll file to something else.

      Hope this helps

      Kind regards
