  • HDZ Servers?

I've heard nothing, but it seems the HDZ box has gone offline taking half the quakeone servers with it.

    incorrect

rage.clanhdz.com still works last I checked, the rage.quakeone.com address has become invalid. Odd enough, Glitch was claiming HDz servers are on a new box,im not sure if this is true or he simply didnt know that Rage has always been hosted by HDz.
Maybe it is true? I'll shoot ava an email/msg find out whats up.

Welcome to Clan HDz isn't working.

So it seems unlike that any of the clanhdz servers can be connected to.

I have Qview open and it uses ip addresses. I'm not seeing any evidence of the servers being up at all.

HDZ is up, however there seems to be a problem for CERTAIN people being able to connect to it for some strange reason. Works for me, doesn't for some...fixable?

          Hmmm ...

I can connect to rage.clanhdz.com and dm.clanhdz.com just fine.

I am left wondering why if Rage and dm.clanhdz.com work, why the other servers at least for me don't seem to work ...

                Sigh.

Like ctf.clanhdz.com, for example ... or maybe I did it wrong.

                  Just a quick note ;

rage.clanhdz.com needs to be added to the server list.

HDZ server was upgraded. Some things might not be back up and working yet. Or DNS might have changed. Not sure what all ava did. He left me a message on irc about it.

When I get home today I'll take a look into it.

                        Here's what happened:

The old server's hard drive died and crapped out. I've been needing to get a new server anyway for some time now, so I went ahead and bought it. I'm *SLOWLY* moving data over to the new server. The old hard drive literally takes an entire minute to open a folder sometimes. It's very near death, but I've gotten most of the important stuff off of it.

The new server is better all-around. It's on a dual processor, quad core Xeon 5405 system (with 8 cores total). It seems to get much better routing for most people, etc. It's just a whole lot better in every respect.

I had to go to Washington DC for a couple weeks. Unfortunately this trip was about a day after I got the new server up, so I wasn't able to finish. I'm back now and I'll be getting the rest of the servers setup shortly.

If any of your logins or servers are misconfigured or not working after a few days, shoot me a message or reply to this thread. It's unlikely I'll get everything right, particularly passwords.

                        Best,
                        Jonathan

Jonathan, I think some people can contribute to the services you provide.. I'm willing to do so.. I'm sure others would be willing considering what you've done for q1. Can you set up a paypal account for donations?
