  • Shareware version

Hi. When I was like...4-7 years old I use to play Quake avidly. Best game ever in my opinion, I've always looked back on it nostalgically. Just today I figured out there was a shareware version and got three of my friends to download Quake as well, so we were playing on the only listed server compatible for shareware- xctf.clan-rum.org.

While its sweet to be playing Quake again- oddly enough I remember almost everything about it, even though I havent played in a decade- its kind of a let down since at best I can get a 2v2. Are there any other servers that support shareware? I tried to join some servers listed on that page yet couldn't get in to any. Am I lacking a mod? Is it just not compatible? Is there any hope for me to get a greater Quake experience even with the community largely dead, or should i just accept what I've got?
