crap ive been trying to play online games for a while now, and i have to buy it. well so much for that. i got the rocketmaps but it still doesnt work. any help??Comment

xJokerx, that "map not found" message is because you are failing the registered check. Even if you had e4m1 in your maps folder, you still don't have pak1.pak in quake\id1 folder and it would say map not found. You say you have the Rocket Arena maps, one of which is arenax. Type "map arenax" in the console and it will say "map not found" despite the fact you have the map.
EVEN if you did and EVEN if you somehow connected without pak1.pak ... you'd connect and get a new message like model not found "voreball.mdl" because that isn't in shareware either.
NQuake is a shareware Quakeworld download. They let you play custom maps in Quakeworld because the engine, ezQuake, had the registered check removed.
