Once you have the game installed, you can goto the MULTIPLAYER menu and select JOIN then then select TCP then type in the server address.
The server address can be found by looking at the page SERVER LIST look under the DNS column and each populated list has the server address in the title... for example
DNS Name Players Mod Map Time Queried
------------------------------------------------------------------------
quake.shmack.net:26000 Rune Quake [quake.shmack.net] 7/16 start 4:48 PM
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Player Name Color Score Total Score Total PlayTime Current FPM
------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
If you access the quake console (usually by pressing the tilde key) and type the following
Code:connect quake.shmack.net:26000
Kind regards

Darkplaces has a server browser, but it only reports servers running Darkplaces. For standard Proquake servers, check out the server browser list at this site's homepage. I run a coop server myself at fvf.servequake.com. It's vastly different from Runequake CO-OP, there's a variety of classes to choose from, all with different strengths and weaknesses. The monsters are supercharged as well.
You may want to check out Proquake, as it's the most faithful to the original replacement engine out there, but with a ton of bug fixes and useful features. If you want updated graphics and external texture support, check out Qrack or Darkplaces.e|------------------------0---------------
