  • Bomber:rocket wars (New Server) Needs play-testing!!!!

Bomber Rocket Wars is one of the fastest paced mods to date!

You're about to witness the original IHOC mod on a FAT PIPE SERVER located in Dallas, TX. Low pings are expected for most everyone in the USA!

Along with a current fairly standard line up of the basic Quake 1 maps. Bomber highly barrows from the bigfoot.quake1.net server.

Some of the bugs might still be getting worked out but they are just getting custom maps integrated into the map rotation! so if you download the bigfoot.quake1.net map pack you will be good to go!

I've requested from Solecord to pare the dns bomber.quakeone.com to the ip of the server 72.5.250.11:26000 and I wouldn't see why he wouldn't do this for the server. Hopefully he sees this soon enough and helps a Quaker out! For now use the IP.

The server comes with a nice hook runes (but not near as many as RuneQuake) and vote-kick features incase the majority feels they have a briefer on their hands. Players I expect you to use the available commands in a responsible manner.

If you have any comments, questions or suggestions please use this thread to bring them to my attention.

we are looking for a few good admins.
As of right now Mindz is an admin and myself. I hopefully plan on recruiting up to 5 admins to help support and maintain the server WHEN NEEDED. So if you have a desire to help out just PM me.

THIS IS BETA TESTING. MOST THINGS ARE SET IN STONE With exception to map rotation. Until the server gets some test play small things may change but nothing game breaking. This is ONLY until everything seems to work properly!

A list of commands can be found here: IHOC Quake Commands

Have at it boys & girls!

      Try typing status...

I think the server is using an oldschool wqpro.exe.. it should be solved once it gets switched out

EZJack connected fine just now! we had lots of fun!

        Hey!
Thanks Phenom, had a hoot! I plan on checking it out more later and binding my keys....maybe I won't get my ass kicked?
Pinging around 90, but a good connection....moved around the maps pretty smoothly. Hope to see more checking it out, happy hunting!

No. It will not fix it.

This is a firewall issue. All UDP ports must be open. Not just 26000.

If you continue having the problem, keep posting, but this is most definitely NOT an exe issue. No version of ProQuake server has network connectivity issues when the server is setup properly. Definitely the firewall or some closely related issue; almost certainly the ports. But not necessarily.

As I recall, Fatpipes had some sort of issue like this for someone else and then they switched it to a different box and it worked fine. I can't definitively say the answer, but as a general rule of thumb network connectivity issues with ProQuake server is almost never the exe version.

Still, what is the version you are using right now? I would use this one: http://quakeone.com/proquake/older_v...90812_0938.zip

                        ticket updated thanks Baker!

Is there come important command line parameters that should be set?

Here's my TODO for the server as of now.

                        1.Get RCON working on server(SOLVED)
2.MAP ROTATION (can't find where the next map rotation is located in IHOC SRC)
                        3.Increase player timeout disconnect
4.Increase text spam limit (Shut up for 15 seconds)
I've contacted Yugo about some of these issues, who knows if he will respond in a timely manner, hes been MIA for years!

                          1. Put rcon_password blah in the autoexec.cfg, then fire up a client that supports rcon (pretty much all of them do these days) and enter your rcon_password... then rcon kick yourself to make sure it works.
                          2. Pretty sure you'll have to grab a programmer for that one. Map rotations are in the progs IIRC.
                          3. net_connecttimeout in autoexec. Pretty sure it's measured in seconds... so net_connecttimeout 90 will give someone's shitty internet 90 seconds to get in before the server boots em.
                          4. pq_spam_grace ? Again, it goes in the autoexec. It has to do with the amount of messages someone can send within a certain amount of time. If you set pq_spam_grace to 0, nobody will be able to talk. If you set it to 4, someone can send 4 messages within a short amount of time before the server blocks their messages for a certain amount of time.

you can hardcode the rotation in for nextlevel.

Solved the RCON issue. Turns out DarkPlaces doesn't have RCON capabilities.

I had to use Qrack 1.60 (linux) but have an issue with it constantly toggling between console and no console or whatever option I'm on in the menu at a very rapid rate.. Strange...

On a scale of 1 to 10 of my QC skills, I am a 1 I see it, I can pick out certain words but I don't quite get QC yet. I'm in the client.qc file and I believe I found the section contain map rotation, but theres also a _levsel.qc and a nextmap section in local.qc so I'm not sure which one to edit. The server doesn't follow the nextmap rotation in the client.qc
