  • Australian servers?

Are there any SA or at least Australian servers that actually have real players that are not idle?

  • #2
    Hi Chris,
Although these guys appear to be more QW based they might have a knowledge of a NQ server or 2. Failing that have a look at Efess's server page in case there are any Aussie servers on that.

    Hope this helps

Is there any difference between Quake and QuakeWorld?

I've not really played much QW but apart from the engine and cosmetic differences, I understand the physics are different (e.g you can make some jumps that are impossible in NQ)

...and some ppl have mentioned that there is "prediction" is QW but I don't know the specifics sorry

          That sounds like CPMA.

in QW,if you aim straight at an opponent and shoot, from what I have gathered over the years is that in QW you WILL hit them, as opposed to in NQ,you must "lead" your shot,as in aim WHERE the enemy is going,NOT where the enemy is AT. If that makes sense?

Mr.Burns, where can I get busy with some Bunny XL and that particular "Trick Jump" server?

I am pretty sure it was way more noticable back in the glory days of Quake, when 70-85% of the community was dialup.

                  Hi Mindzy.
                  Hmm tricky,
The only trick server I know of these days is Bigfoot.quake1.net. They have a selection of trick maps on there accessible by using
                  Code:
                  say !maps -tricks
                  if you then try
                  Code:
                  say !map trick11
this is the closest map I could find to the one shown in the video, and should at least get you the map to try out in SP mode. In MP on the server it doesn't seem to have the required weapons - or at least it didn't for me [Peg, any ideas?].

If you want to download it directly try here

Bare in mind that the vid was QW based and a LOT of the tricks will be damn near impossible unless you're =peg=

                  Have fun
