Hello. I have recently been running a LAN server playing Quake 1 with a friend. We are able to play deathmatch with each other, as well as coop threw levels with monsters. However, I can not for the life of me find a solution on line as to how to turn Friendly Fire in coop mode off. It is quite difficult to complete a level on hard mode when I am continuously shooting my friend in the face.
On the small menu that is presented when "creating a server" I am aware that there is an option called "teamplay" with the selections, "off", "friendly fire" and "no friendly fire". Whichever one of these three I set it to, sure enough, friendly fire is still enabled. I tried tons of things. I tried:
Using the DMflags command, 256
changing both of our uniform colours to be the same
using the g_frienlyFire command
and screaming loudly at my monitor.
Whenever I entered any of the commands that i listed, it just tells me that its an unknown command. I am clueless, could some one please tell me how to disable friendlyfire in co-op multiplayer?
Just for the record, we are both linux users, running ubuntu 10.10.
We have the full version of the game, both .pak files, and we're both using the quakespasm engine. (I am rather new to the art of all this quake engine voodoo. So if I seem noobish, please don't be too hard on me :p)
Any input is appreciated, thanks in advance!
