  • Co-op friendly fire

I was playing splitscreen co-op(on fteqw) with my buddy, and we were able to damage each other, despite friendly fire was off. I've assigned us to the same team ("1") through console and restarted the game, but it still didn't help. Does it happen in vanilla Quake too? And is there any way to fix this/disable killing other players at all?

hmm... teamplay 1 or sv_teamplay 1, something like that. The cvar is really generic though, it only works for players with the same pants color. If you wanted to be a dick, you could just change your pants and mow everyone else down. For any real "no friendly fire" feature, like something in FvF or Rquake, you'd have to code something up in qc.

if someone changes color mid-game and mows over the other, I'm sure I would laugh.

I've tried the teamplay command, but it doesn't work in splitscreen mode. I found out that it's impossible to disable teamfire in fteqw's splitscreen mode yet. All the players on the same computer will damage each other regardless of teamplay is on or off.

Real players play with FF off anyway.

If you had to save the world in real life, would you not do it because there's a chance you could shoot your friend by accident?

Actually my buddy could stop my attempt to save the world by spamming his grenades all around the map He's a little noobish. That's why I wanted to disable the FF.
