  • Quake servers that run regular Quake CO-OP

I finally have Qrack running perfectly and I'm ready for some multiplayer. So, I select "multiplayer" from the menu and QQ. I need server addresses! So, anyone know the servers that host vanilla Quake co-op games? My Qrack address book is empty.

I do not think there are any plain Co-op servers anymore. There is FVF , its a co-op , but u need to DL the mod files, and run -game fvf.

It isn't "vanilla coop" as requested above but another option you might consider is an RQuake Coop server. It's your team versus the monsters, who incidentally have been beefed up somewhat to make it more challenging, on some interesting custom maps.

All you need is the RQuake maps pack installing in your id1/maps/ folder and you should be good to go on your nearest RQuake server such as FlandersCoop.
          Code:
          connect flanders.quake1.net:26001
If quake monsters and/or custom maps aren't your thing, then you could always consider one of the DM Team Game servers which are very popular amongst some of the commuinity here. Personally DM Team games are not my cup of tea and I tend to avoid them like the plague but I'm sure some kind spirited soul could point you in the right direction

          Hope this helps

Just a thought but perhaps try and connect to the same server with Proquake/DarkPlaces/DirectQ to see if you can isolate the problem to a specific client?

Oh it probably IS an issue with Qrack. I just don't want to have to switch clients.

um Qrack is 100% up to date and full compliant (and more compliant in terms of some servers connectivity issues with a gaming host)

cl_fullpitch is for having a full looking up and down axis, and only works if its enabled server side.

If you want to play vanilla coop , host your own server

Use google for everything,im too lazy to provide links today...

download ProQuake 4.51! Install to your quake folder!

create a shortcut to your proquake executable (glpro451.exe) , right click on it and edit the Target line to something like this...

                    D:\Games\Quake\glpro480_gcc.exe -dedicated 16 -ip x.x.x.x

replace those x's with YOUR ip address, if your buddies are in real life then use your LAN address for hosting PC,if your buddies on all trying to access via their own connections, use your WAN address instead. If your using a router, just set the hosting PC to DMZ mode.

Thats the process in a nutshell...

FYI , when our internets goes out (rare), the PC in the living room host's a local CAx server and I don't do without.

                    1v1??

You can play vanilla coop on an Rquake coop server. Issue the console command vanilla and it will switch to normal monsters/no runes. You can warp to the standard quake start map, select difficulty, and play through original quake. Not sure if you can change friendly fire settings, haven't tried that.

are you curious about what all there is out there in terms of HD content for quake?
                        > then make sure to check out my 'definitive' HD replacement content thread! <

anyone know where to get the files for running a rq coop server? they used to be here but most of these links are toast.

apparently the co-op servers are a little broke, and i woulnt mind being able to play my own game w/ a 3 ping solo
