Can we get a vote-admin version of CA or can someone such as myself get admin to Speak and Rage foremost (but any additional servers too) for when there is no one else around? which is almost always but especially late at night when Mark and I are usually on.

If the majority wants what he wants, i have no issue going along with it. But when the majority doesn't want what he wants, he will literally sit around for an hour and do his best to ruin it for others.

- The Problem

Mark is a pouty, passive-aggressive kid (exactly like kimp) if he doesn't get what he wants. Specifically Match play, when the rest of us want to pmode (he sits at mound on dm3 or any other high traffic area on other maps and spams grenades). But also, when he decides "more teams = more fun", he will screw even teams just to force someone else to join his 3rd team.

- The Solution

Vote-Admin will take a while to incorporate. Also it's easy to exploit. Someone who plays CA often needs to be admin. I nominate myself, because i get along with everyone. I hardly ever complain about anything, game related. But Marks has just worked my last nerve with this. Can't ever get an honest pmode game with him around. I know how to warn, kick and temp-ban.. i've had experience with being admin or Op on IRC, no problems with power going to my head. I honestly can't think of anyone else that would fit the profile of what is needed better than I. No one else is around as much as Mark and I.

Thought we already had a Quake sheriff with all the keys named Bada1m?

I proposed the VOTE-ADMIN command be replaced in CA but for some reason everything cringed at the thought of it.

I think having one person to control all the CA servers like in Bad1m's case is a bad idea and makes for narrow confrontations usually ending up with Bada1m looking more like an anti-hero then a @Quake 1 server admin.

What Quake really needs is players. Why don't we have more players!?

I can definitely vouch both for Mark's propensity for trying to ruin the fun if he doesn't get his way and for Rev as an admin. The couple times I've tried to play the new King of the Hill mod with mark around, he'll just sit back and fire rockets at the "hill" so no one can get frags.

Someone says marks need a fn hammer??? WHAT!!! Mark is delusional and shouldn't be taken seriously. If his antics reach epic proportions, then someone should definately be able to handle it.


Quake is more and more like the Wild West, lawless and full of bandits (case in point,kimp is now an accepted member of the Q1 community.)

The only real community's left in the NQ USA online gaming,and they are TDM/CRMOD and Shmack/RQ. When and if the TDM/CRMOD community fails to sustain itself, RQ will become kimps target. The cancer is festering because attempts to cut it out was thwarted. North American NQ hasn't been at this low of a level since post-Quakeboard.net & pre QuakeOne.com

I still agree that morons like Mark and Kimp should have zero tolerance policy,regaurdless of how baron it may seem. Do tumbleweed's roam DM3again now days?

I can add a vote-admin and update the mod later today.

In crmod, the limitation on an admin that was voted, would not allow them to ban anyone, but passing votes or changing settings without votes.

Early versions of CAx had a vote-kick but after time people just complained about it.

is there a way to program a vote-tempban? say for like 5-10 minutes, then it lifts the ban?

in situations where people (mark) detest practice mode, simply kicking isn't going to do much.

Any time an admin bans someone in realtime it's only a temp ban until the map changes. To have perm ban the ban.cfg would need to be edited.

But, i think having people on the server attracts other players. Meaning, instead of banning them just force them to observer and mute them.

the majority thing has basically been my point.

if i'm on speaknow, and everyone wants to match... i'll match. if i'm on speak, and everyone except mark wants to practice mode, then we still end up playing match or a retarded game of practice because of his tantrums. if the majority is in favor of mark, then so be it, if not, do something about it.

i'm not saying "i want...", to anything.
