  • Help! Multiplayer: All Skins Appear White

Hey guys, I haven't played this game in yeeeears and I'd like to pick it up again. I managed to put the pieces together and get the game running on my mac, the only problem is that no player skins show up in multiplayer. Everyone is white!!! Team play is pretty much impossible.

    Whats the deal?
Is anyone familiar with the file structure of the game on mac?
Where should my Skins folder go?
    Where can I find a sexy Base.pcx?

Thanks for helping an old newb out.

erm... before anyone can maybe help you, could you tell us what client you're using? cuz theres lots of quake clients out there, and the folder structure and naming is different in different clients.

so which client are you using?

if its darkplaces, i might maybe be able to lend a helping hand, and perhaps help find the prob and solution
if you're using another client, i dont know anything about those sadly

afaik the folder structures should be the same for clients no matter if its build for mac or for windows btw
anyone correct me if im wrong on this though
    .
are you curious about what all there is out there in terms of HD content for quake?
    > then make sure to check out my 'definitive' HD replacement content thread! <
everything that is out there for quake and both mission-packs, compiled into one massive thread

you can try cvar_list in console.

I think there's a var that you can set to 1 or something for player model, it may fix that issue, but i am unsure since that problem isn't in existance in proquake or any clients i'm familiar with anymore however as your on a mac, a mac version of client may still have that colorless model issue.

      Goodluck.

if cvar_list doesn't work try typing cvar in console then press tab until you find cvar list... or if there is no cvar list command tab through commands by pressing tab till you find something regarding player and try setting some to 1 (active) and if it doesn't then reset it to default 0 (off).

      ~Cheers goodluck.

Quakeone.com - Being exactly one-half good and one-half evil has advantages. When a portal opens to the antimatter universe, my opposite is just me with a goatee.

So while you guys all have to fight your anti-matter counterparts, me and my evil twin will be drinking a beer laughing at you guys ...

Hey guys, I'm using GLQuake, umm ProQuake 4.46 - does that help? Thanks for investigating. The cvar/cvar_list thing keeps coming up as an unknown command.
