  • Suggestions for maximum Eyecandy possible on Darkplaces

Hi all I want some suggestions about what mods to use, tuned cfgs and settings for getting the 'best possible' eyecandy on Darkplaces. I have seen some screenies of DP taken by people from this forum and they certainly nothing short of fantastic. I have a small game expo in our local town in some weeks and I thought it would be a great Idea to let people (re)discover a classic game such as Quake while still showing them how high can its engine be taken graphically. And since you seem to be old on the Quake modding scene, I think I've just found the right people to ask for help.

In case it's of any help, I have a [email protected]; 4 gtx680 in 4-way sli, and 8 gigs of 2666 ram. So as far as the vram usage doesn't exceed the 2gb limit and the frame rate doesn't drop below 30 fps, everything should be fine. Any suggestions are welcome.

    Thanks

Due to hardware restrictions I don't use Darkplaces but with your hardware you could always consider Seven's Small Mod Compilation (SMC) which is designed specifically for DP and provides significant enhancements and configurability to ensure you get your Quake looking exactly how you want it.

You should be able to find more information including download links and development updates here

    Hope this helps

    All hail the mighty Seven
