  • DirectQ bugs and suggestions

I've been trying Dq and it's now become my new default engine.
But there are a couple for bugs I've found:
    >mouse look doesn't work
and by extension, I believe that this also causes strange physics when playing Airquake
    >s_khz is an unrecognized command, also Dq should default to 44hkz

Also I'd like if the following options were added:
    >adjustable particle transparency
    >adjustable particle density
    >skybox 'absorbs' bullets/rockets
    >selectable liquid alpha - eg: have water alpha but not lava, tele, slime etc

    Hi Ranger,

I'm not sure if MH is still visiting this site as the last recorded visit under his usual account appears to be 23rd March 2013. Unfortunately his blog currently appears to have been removed as well, as other people have touched on recently.

It's a pity really, as he was a real force for good in the community. Let's hope he hasn't left under a cloud and returns at some point.

You can still get the last official release here..
For the latest unofficial beta/test builds refer to this thread
      • To enable more menu options type menu_advanced 1 in console
      • DQ does support mouselook in the same way any other engine does: +mlook in console or use the menu
      • Add -sndspeed 44100 to your commandline to enable 44khz sound speed.
      • Once you got the advanced menu unlocked you can play with *some* particle settings.. or type r_particle[press tab key] in console to see what else might be tweaked..
      • Sky absorbing rockets is a content thing that the engine has no control over as far as I know.. this is set at BSP compiling time, so it depends on the map..
      • DQ supports r_wateralpha, r_telealpha, r_slimealpha and r_lavaalpha so tweak those to your liking..

      Hope this helps..

edit: Oh, and yeah, we miss you MH!
