Quake 2 pro audio

Hey im new to the site. Now the problem I have today is trying to get quake 2 to work with cd audio. Now, I already have the official quake 2 CD and i dont want to use the original executable. Id much rather use quake 2 pro. when i put in the disc and startup a new single player game, no music plays. How do i get Q2PRO to use the audio?

You've come to the quakeONE forums about the abomination known as Quake 2? I just checked Q2PRO's manual which is clearly visible on their website, and I did a page find for "music", and it took me to the incompatibilities section which clearly states: "CD music is not supported."

A shame too, as the Quake 2 music, and perhaps the railgun, were the only good parts

people here, for the most part are: Q1>Q2.

although, there is no real malice towards q2 here. most like it (i think)

There is a DirectQ II , which was designed for Quake2. Have you tried that???
